Mashup your web apps with Ubiquity from Mozilla Labs

Mashup your web apps with Ubiquity from Mozilla Labs
Mozilla Labs has a released an awesome new add-on for Firefox that allows you to mash-up web applications. It's incredible! I can't wait to try it out. It's still in the alpha stages so there are kinks that still need to be worked out. But it looks amazing so far. Check out the video for a demonstration.

Banksy tours America

Banksy is in the news again this week. First because he tried to donate a piece of art to the Labour Party in the UK and second because he is currently taking a tour across America spreading his politically-toned outdoor urban art.

Futuristc Standing Motorcycle Concept Design

A college student has come up with the concept for a motorcycle that is upright and you wear as sort of an exoskeleton. It's so freaking cool!! I can't wait to see it move from concept to reality. Check out the video to see an animation of it in action.

Microsoft launches Photosynth

Microsoft labs (their counterpart to Google labs I guess) has created a new program called Photosynth that takes regular digital photos and creates a 360 view. It's similar to Quicktime VR except you don't need any special equipment or even have to stand in the same location.

Smashing Magazine's Contest - win a Wacom tablet!

Smashing Magazine is hosting a contest that I wanted to pass along because I think you'd be interested in participating. Especially since the prize is a Wacom Intuos3 9X12 USB Tablet. I know I could sure use one of those. Good luck!

Packaging Design Tips and Inspiration

Packaging Design Tips and Inspiration
Packaging design is obviously very important when marketing your product. It's the first thing people see when walking into a store so you have to make sure that it stands out from the rest of the products on the shelf. Package design can make you desire something as benign as soap. Designers are especially more sensitive to package design.

Robots Rock!

I ♥ robots! I hope you do too because I have three robot-related things to tell you about. First, an awesome CG short film. Second, a look at the new Transformers 2 posters. Finally, some info on the upcoming Voltron movie.

Sexy Keyboard Product Concept

This is an amazing concept that could revolutionize something as simple and ubiquitous as the keyboard. This keyboard works more like a touch screen than an keyboard, there are no actual keys. This means that it is not limited to standard keyboard set-up. It's more like an extra screen that happens to be touch-sensitive.

Architecture: Prefab Housing

One aspect of design that I really like is architecture. From huge buildings to small homes, I'll always admire a great design. On this post I'm going to focus on one of my favorite types of architecture design, Prefab Homes. I'm a huge fan of prefab housing for 3 main reasons:

Inspiration from Asia

When I'm looking for some inspiration, or if I just want to check out some great artwork, I love to check out this great site called Startdrawing.org. It showcases artists strictly from Asia. There's some pretty amazing work on it. Check it out:

Olympic Poster Design over the last 112 years

1968 Olympic Poster - Mexico
As the Summer Olympics draws near every aspect of popular culture tends to involve itself in it. The design world especially plays an important part in inspiring people to get excited about the games.

A new mouse design that's pretty far out there

Everyone uses a mouse, and most of you have probably heard of carpal tunnel syndrome. I never really worry about it but it does linger around the back of my mind. I even know some people who have been afflicted by it. There are different things you can do to avoid getting it, using a more ergonomic mouse in one solution, OR you can use this mouse that looks like it was designed for an alien hand.

7 Beautiful title & credit sequence designs

Iron Man
I love motion graphics and animation. One thing I look for when I go to the cinema or watch a TV program is a nicely designed title and/or credit sequence. It's not absolutely necessary, but if it's there, and done right, it adds a new level of enjoyment to the film or show. I feel like there has been a bunch of great sequences lately so I thought I'd post a few that I liked.

Beck delves further into the 60's with Modern Guilt

Beck - Modern Guilt
Beck's new album Modern Guilt is out now and I'm digging its groovy 60's vibe. It's a little bit more psychedelic and moodier than his previous more upbeat and funky albums like Odelay and Midnight Vultures, but is definitely worth checking out if you're a fan.

Awesome Concept Cars

I've seen many concept cars in my lifetime, whether on the web or at a car show, but I've never seen anything like these before. These concepts come from the Royal College of Art (I'm guessing that's in the UK somewhere). They're incredible! But of course, like all concept cars, I'll probably never see them on the streets...ever. Oh well, they're still cool to daydream about.
