Some time ago I had posted an article showing how to create a smoke effect in photoshop, and to achieve that I used a photo of smoke and some photoshop filters. However, some people had said at the time that I should have done the smoke as well and it´s exactly what I will show on this post right now.
Since my last article on how to create smoke generated lots of traffic, I decided to write another one on some of the photoshop effects. Although I use Photoshop on a daily basis, I am by no means a photoshop expert.
I've been working with Photoshop for some time now. I really like the software and what can be achieved using it. What amazes me more is the quality of works that were done using it. There are people who really know how to push the boundaries of the tool and produce astonishing pieces of work. It is exactly those people, whom have inspired me that i want to list in this post.
Last week I had posted an article about Photoshop Masters, it was really good to see their works and how they used the tool to achieve those amazing effects.

Last year I had written a tutorial showing how to create some lighting effects in Photoshop, it was called Magic Lighting Effects. A lot of people liked it, but some people still have some questions on how to achieve that effect.
Fact: HDR pictures are totally cool. HDR makes colors pop-out, they appear really vivid and shiny. And what kinda art uses lots of vivid and shiny colors? That's right, grafitti! And the combination of these two will blow your mind!
I’ve seen some very nice images mixing photos with light effects and sparks. If you go to flickr in those Photoshop and Graphic Design groups you will see images with this effect. There’s a designer, I think he's Brazilian, who has some amazing designs using this style, his name is Leandro Demetrius and it’s really worth checking his work out.
Do you know when you try to make a cool self-portrait but you never know what to do in order to get out of the box? Well, why don't you try a HDR Portrait? It's really awesome!
Isn't it freaky when you're reading a magazine, and then you notice that the cover model is missing her belly button? Or maybe that foxy red head has got the longest fingers in history? Yeah, that's more common than you might imagine.
Internet it's the best resource for everything you might look for. Looking for Photoshop brushes? You got it. Cool pictures? Sure! What about textures? That's also easy!
There has been a lot of buzz recently about HDR photography, but many people assume that it's only limited to professional photographers. The reality is that just about anyone can take and process an HDR photo with most cameras and proper HDR software.
When we start thinking about a new design, one of the first things we start researching is cool colors that we might use. But how about researching Super Heroes color schemes?
On this article I created a design inspired by the work of Nik Ainley. He’s one of my favorite Photoshop Masters and his work is really impressive. For this design I used the Displace filter in Photoshop.
A couple of days ago while I was reading a magazine I saw a pretty cool soda ad where they used a lot of water drops in its design. It was excellent and I thought that I could create the same effect in Photoshop using the layer styles.
