Hey, I would like to add you to my website!
Men.. Your site are GREAT!!! You are my Idol!! Honestly.. Your Tutorials is the best tutorial i ever seen in Photoshop.
@mike: Hi there Mike. Thanks for the compliment. The light and dark effects are enhanced by creating a selection around the subjects and basically darkening it on levels. I never use layers on personal work I retouch or create moods directly on to the image. People may say but if you want to go back on your history what then ?? well I think of it like this...it has to come out right the first time if it doesn´t then I simply start again. Don´t get me wrong I use the ctrl z button quite alot. Ahh and the song is called something about us by Daft Punk.
@Bruno: Beleza Bruno ? Assim ó vou te dizer que é só questão de preferência mesmo. Seleciono mudo de temperatura no PS e vou testando até chegar na cor desejada. Têm tudo a ver com critério e gosto. Abrazz meu velho.
@Jonathan: Hi there Jonathan. Well I have shot cars in the open but never in the studio. I live in brazil I don´t know if that could make things a little difficult for regarding that type work. Well let me know.
@Anonymous guy: Cool ?? I suppose that this could be a decent topic for my next post.I´ll see into it by getting a couple of examples to show you. Thanks buddy. Oh and regarding image retouching I believe that our perception of imagery has changed in the past 10 years and things that we used to think were acceptable then, today we think they are not. So I believe that for certain types of photography PS is still the tool to be used. I do use PS in alot of my work but only because the topic (people) calls for it. Take care bro.
Lovely photos mate.... i was wondering what your opinions are on using photoshop with your photos?
Can you show me an example of a photo that really didnt need photoshop and maybe a photo of one you 'saved' in photoshop?
cheers.
I know I am a little late on the post but wanted to know if you have any experience in automotive photography. We are always looking for photographers to shoot cars for our ads. Let me know if your interested. Nice work BTW.
Oi, como é que você consegue aqueles tons de pele espectaculares como na foto número 1 da sua galeria pessoal. São fantásticos, parece que o pessoal fica com um bronzeado perfeito. :)
Adorei o seu trabalho, saudações do outro lado do atlântico..
I really like your pictures. It would be great if you could explain how you got some of your shots and the effects used in photoshop.
My favorite was the 3 guys in the alleyway. How did you blend the dark with the light? Nice shot, very creative way to mix light and dark.
I also like the first track of music on your website. I tried to find the musician via google, but had no luck.
wow john...awesome! man..great pics!!!!!!!you're amazing
WOW....that´s what I have to say and thank you all, I apreciate everyones comments and questions it really gassed me up.
@Crazed: He´s a local Dj I did that image about two weeks ago. Why do you ask my friend ?
@Prabhjeet: Now that image was a pretty complex lighting scheme that I used. I allways try to light my subjects following a reallistic code let´s say. The idea is to light so it looks like the lights are coming from somewhere else like natural ambient got it ?? I used back lighting and frontal all flash. Photoshop was used to clean blemishes and imperfecions on the models. The colour was also modified to give it that cooler look but not on the PS but on camera temperature settings.
@Thiago Fonseca: That image was quite interesting to do,nothing much just exposure and little post work on PS. I Hand held the camera and shot away. That stroke is the son just creeping in.
Wonderful.. Impressive.. Thanx
It's awesome!!!!
Great Collection , THX !
Where you found this picture ? : http://abduzeedo.com/files/u1/jp/jp_8.jpg
hehe
Muito massa teu trabalho.
Conhece o Eduardo Carneiro?
I love the work!
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!
abduz - hurray for expanding!
(why the hard math questions! 9+9!!!!?? im going to get one of these wrong one day!)
Well, am not a photographer, but i want to know that how did you capture that 2nd image (fighting girls), its really really fantastic exposure. Had you shoot it with only camera or any more tricks ?
So, this site is only gonna get better.
This is fantastic news--those are some great exposures.
Very effective lighting, and great composition. I'm a total photography buff (find it fits my need to Photoshop rather well), and I'm sure he will have fantastic contributions to the site.
My only opinion is that I hope he's not afraid to go into great detail. There's such an abundance of "basics of photography" articles on the internet, as well as "basics of photoshop for photography" articles, but it'd be great to really get some cutting-edge stuff on creative lighting and intricate photoshop post-processing.
That would fit the character of this site best, IMO.
The good job result in Great Pics.
I like the job's from JP, from long time
Great work John
I must say that i´m thrilled!
This is a great site and it´s getting even greater!
Have you tried to search good fireworks tutorials that match seen here? I´vve tried and found nothing as close.
And i´m hoping to see some more fireworks tutorials here.
Thanks Abduzeedo and great team! Oh and welcome John. I´m looking forward your picd and tuts.

Thank You, look forward to your next post!
How did You get that white stroke on that little boy picture? Post work or right from your camera?? Cool effect anyway.
